Do You Know

On leaving certainty, finding company in solitude, and deciding that the sky is not the limit.

Do you know it was my first
I was scared and living in tomorrow
Next thing I know I left my nest when I was young
I left certainty for the thrill of the unknown
The courage that once packed my bags
Has stopped looking back
Next thing I know One normal day I decided
To say “F it”
and jump again.
On a new adventure to find myself
That I’d lost somewhere along the way
Next thing I know I started enjoying the pain
The warm hug of emptiness
Made me realize
Alone is not lonely
Next thing I know I am in love with solo travel
I am missing the strangers
Met for a few hours
Felt like old friends.
Next thing I know I am thinking
Do you know it will be my last
I am scared and
I will fly even with broken wings
Through the storm over the clouds
In search of space for a frail bird
Who decided sky is not the limit.
